The following are events throughout the community that may be helpful to caregivers, those with dementia, and those interested in making their communities more dementia-friendly. There are both virtual and live events, some hosted by The Ohio Council for Cognitive Health, and many hosted by our friends and partners in the community.   • Memoir with Laughter On Call

    Virtual

    In this workshop hosted by Hilarity for Charity, participants are given specific prompts to recount significant moments in their lives as caregivers and beyond. They are taught basic storytelling structure to continue their writing beyond the class. There is an opportunity to share their writing in class, creating a foundation for community.

  • Understanding Dementia Beyond Memory Loss: Assessment, Function, and Daily Impact

    Join Dr. Renarda Jones for a conversation that looks at dementia beyond memory loss. She will walk through cognitive and functional changes, how to assess them effectively, and what they mean for everyday life.     Join Hilarity for Charity (HFC) and the Dementia Engagement, Education, and Research (DEER) Program for this exclusive opportunity to be trained in relationship-centered dementia care. This FREE training is delivered virtually via Zoom over the course of four 3.5-hour sessions (you must complete all four sessions to receive your certificate).

    This training series is designed to empower care partners with the skills and insights needed for high-quality, relationship-centered, culturally responsive dementia care.
